Termidor SC is not known to leech through the soil. You will need to follow the Termidor SC product label which has specific instructions for treating near a well to avoid any contamination issues:
TREATMENT AROUND WELLS OR CISTERNS: Do not contaminate wells or cisterns.
Structures With Wells/Cisterns Inside Foundations: Structures that contain wells or cisterns within the foundation of a structure can only be treated using the following techniques:
1. Do not apply within 5 feet of any well or cistern by rodding and/or trenching or by the backfill method. Treat soil between 5 and 10 feet from the well or cistern by the backfill method only. Treatment of soil adjacent to water pipes within 3 feet of grade should only be done by the backfill method.
a) Trench and remove soil to be treated onto heavy plastic sheeting or similar material or into a wheelbarrow.
b) Treat the soil at the rate of 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth of the trench, or 1 gallon per 1.0 cubic feet of soil. Mix thoroughly into the soil taking care to contain the liquid and prevent runoff or spillage.
c) After the treated soil has absorbed the solution, replace the soil into the trench.
Structures With Adjacent Wells/Cisterns and/or Other Water Bodies: Applicators must inspect all structures with nearby water sources such as wells, cisterns, surface ponds, streams, and other bodies of water and evaluate, at a minimum, the treatment recommendations listed below prior to making an application.
1. Prior to treatment, if feasible, expose the water pipes) coming from the well to the structure, if the pipes) enter the structure within 3 feet of grade.
2. Prior to treatment applicators are advised to take precautions to limit the risk of applying the termiticide into subsurface drains that could empty into any bodies of water. These precautions include evaluating whether application of the termiticide to the top of the footer may result in contamination of the subsurface drain. Factors such as depth to the drain system and soil type and degree of compaction should be taken into account in determining the depth of treatment.
3. When appropriate (i.e., on the water side of the structure), the treated backfill technique (described above) can also be used to minimize off-site movement of termiticide.

Due to the high water table and potential for regular flooding in the state of Louisiana, most of the soil termiticides such as Termidor SC are not for use in the soil in that state. This means only unique and safer formulations that wont get into the water are allowed, or bait stations in instances where liquids are not the preferred option. The two main termiticides that are not restricted to soil use in Louisana are Altriset and Phantom. Altriset is what most customers use due to its newer formulation and safety for the environment, along with its great termite control abilities. Baits do not normally work on White-Footed Ants so alternative methods will be needed. You will need to treat the lawn and any mounds you see with Talstar P. Spray the Talstar around window and door frames. Please review our detailed article on How to Get Rid of White Footed Ants for more information on eliminating them from your home. Termidor SC is effective against all ants. Termidor SC is the most effective ant treatment product available because it does not just kill the ants that come in contact with it, but it also kills the queen and the rest of the colony when the ant that first came in contact with the product returns to the colony. Be sure to use Termidor SC in a very clean hand pump sprayer. If you use a sprayer that still has remnants of other products in it, you could ruin the way Termidor SC works. It is applied only in a 1 ft by 1 ft band around the exterior of the structure (do not spray Talstar P to the same area).
Suspend SC will only kill the ants that contact a treated surface and would need to be applied every 30 days outside and 90 days inside. Termidor is the # 1 choice for ant control around the home. Termidor is a non-repellent insecticide that works with a delayed reaction amd also has a transfer effect. That means that ants cannot tell that the Termidor is there and will walk right over it and then pick the product up on their bodies and inadvertently carry it back to the colony, then through normal social interaction the ants spread the Termidor and wipe out the colony.
Termidor only needs to be applied two times per year and is effective for a wide variety of insects including ants, centipedes, roaches, spiders, silverfish, wasps and many other nuisance insects. You will need to apply Termidor SC 1-2 ft up the foundation and 1-2 ft out onto the ground, around door frames, window frames, places where cables, pipes or wires go through the wall and any other crack or crevice where the ants can gain entry into your home.
You cannot use Termidor inside for ant control so Suspend would be the better product if you needed to treat inside.
