    Q
How do I get rid of crazy ants?
They are in my yard, starting to get in my home.
    A
Termidor SC is one of the best products known to work on the crazy ant. According to the product label you are only allowed to use Termidor SC once very 6 months for ant control (the only exception to this is for folks dealing with the Raspberry crazy ant of Texas and only in certain counties of Texas. Those folks have received an exemption). You can alternate between products if needed. You can use Termidor SC and then alternate it with Phantom which works very much like the Termidor. By using this method you are staying within the label limits. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Is the Termidor SC properties affected or reduced with the use of another product for fleas and ticks?
I use Termidor for termites and I need some product to kill and control ticks and fleas around the patio and premises where my pets stay. What product do you recommend for those pests in my pets; shampoos, dips, etc.?
    A
Since Termidor is a non-repellant product you would not want to apply anything repellant as it will null that affect.  For flea and tick control outside you can use the Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit.  This kit contains Onslaught which is a broad spectrum insecticide which can be used as a broadcast spray for both indoor and outdoor infestations. The kit also contains Martins IGR which will help break the breeding cycle of the fleas for long term control.  Both products work great for fleas and ticks.  We do carry several products that are labeled for flea and tick control on pets, you can find them here.  Our most popular product is the PetCor Flea Spray.  Petcor Flea Spray contains Precor IGR, another type of insect growth regulator.

    Q
What is good to spray a large lot for crazy ants, and also spray indoors?
    A
Termidor SC used outdoors and Phantom used indoors have been the most effective products to control Crazy Raspberry Ants. Ant baits and synthetic pyrethroid insecticides do not seem to do an effective job controlling this ant species. Texas A&M University has done extensive research regarding these ants and you can find detailed articles on their extension website. We have linked a specific article about them HERE. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Q
    Termites in Alder trees
I have termites in my Alder trees in So California. I purchased some Termidor SC from you guys. Should I mix and pour around the base of the infected tree or inject into tree limbs that already have died from termites? Help!
    A
Termidor cannot be used in the manner you have described and is not labeled for use on trees as you described.  Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a ground barrier around the trees.  Most people are primarily concerned with protecting the big investment, their home, and Termidor would be the product to use for that.  It is only labeled to be used adjacent to the structure though.  Please take a moment to read over our article on "How to do a Termite Treatment" for complete details

    Q
Is termites emerging from soil directly after Termidor SC treatment normal?
Hi, I just performed a treatment of Termidor SC around the foundation of my house. While digging the trench along my foundation I discovered a small pocket of active subterranean termites (the nasty little white-ish ones, not winged) in the soil right around 6" down. After pouring in the treatment, spraying down the backfill thoroughly, and backfilling, I came back about 2 hours later to find the termites emerging from the soil and making their way along the foundation towards the bottom of my siding. Is this normal, for them to come up out of the soil after a treatment? I've seen the winged termites come out of the ground but never the subterranean ones.
    A
It is normal to see the termites emerging after a colony has been disturbed. They go into panic mode and begin to act out of character. As long as they were contacted by the treatment they will be eliminated.

    Q
What can I use in my yard for crazy ants? I have almost 3 acres and and these ants are everywhere! Please help
I am purchasing phantom for my house and termidor sc around the house. Could I use the termidor in the yard and if so how many bottles do I need for 3 acres? How many can I purchase at one time? Any info woukd be heloful!
    A
That is great news that you are using Termidor around the outside perimeter and phantom indoors. Unfornuantly, Termidor cannot be used out in the yard. We recommend using something like Invict Blitz Ant Granules. All turf and landscaping areas of the property can treated with 4-8 oz per 1000 sq ft., or 10-20 lbs. per acre.

    Q
I have found termites in my garage. This is a "detached" garage that was built right next to the house.
The garage is on a slab. Can I apply Termidor around the perimeter of the garage, or do I have to drill holes? I have not found termites in the house, It is about 110 years old. Just in the garage, which is quite a bit newer.
    A
We always recommend performing a complete barrier treatment around the structure.  You watch complete instructions here in our video.

    Q
Can I spray/ broadcast or foam an attic for drywood termites in CA?
Does termidor soak into the attic member wood?
    A
No, Termidor SC is not applied inside the structure as a spray or broadcast application. It can be mixed with ProFoam and applied using a PolyFoamer for voided areas (spot treat only-see product label for specific application instructions). Termidor SC is not a wood treatment product. For drywood termite treatments on wood, we recommend applying a product called Bora-Care. This product is applied to raw wood and penetrates further than any other product.

    Q
Can I use Termidor SC if I put down something for carpenter ants and termites?
I found active termites and had some spectracide Termite and carpenter ant killer in ready to use bottle so I dumped the whole thing across a 15 ft. area. I did not dig out any dirt before dumping, I just dumped. Can I still use the termidor? This was about a month ago that I poured the stuff on the ground. I also needed to know how these commercial companys make such neat trenches, do you have any suggestions?
    A
We recommend that you check the product label of the product that was previously used in that area for the length of time of the residual prior to applying any product in that area. You may also call the manufacturer of the product for the information.

    Q
I have a block house. We know there was past subterranian termite activity.
I am suspecting some new activity around a window in the bathroom. What is my best route of attack? I thought about drilling at every block cavity around the perimeter just below the floor joists.-- The joists go directly into the block. -Then using Termidor SC in the cavities. I'm told the termites will make their home in the bottom of the block and may stay dormant for years there. If I do this, how long before I will have to do it again? Or should I do the cavities and do a trench outside?
    A

When treating a block foundation, you should drill a hole in each void so there would be 2 holes per block.  The holes should be no more than 18 inches high.  Usually you want to drill on the second row of blocks high from the ground.  In addition to drilling the holes, you should also trench and treat the outside foundation wall and the inside foundation wall if you have a crawl space.  After drilling the holes, you are supposed to apply 2 gallons of solution per 10 lineal feet into the blocks.  For filling trenches and drill holes going vertically into slabs, you should apply 4 gallons per 10 lineal feet.  Please let us know if you have any further questions. • Asked by Jonathan from San Jose Ca

    Q
Is Termidor SC safe to spray outdoor?
To spray outdoor of home. What if there's plants bushes around house, can I spray along the perimeter of that?....
    A
Termidor SC should have no effect on plants that are inadvertently sprayed with the product. It is important to read and follow the Termidor SC product label which states that you can only treat one foot up from and one foot out from where the ground meets the structure. The label also recommends that you remove or prune away plants, shrubs or tree branches that touch the structure. Vegetation that comes into contact with the structure may offer a route of entry for the ants allowing them to enter the structure without ever having come into contact with the treated area.

    Q
I recently got rid of terminex, what should I use as a perimeter/band treatment?
They were using something with IMIDACLOPRID, CYFLUTHRIN 0.075%
    A
By far our most popular liquid Termiticide is Termidor SC with Fipronil active ingredient. For termites, you want to dig a 6inx6in trench all the around the perimeter of the structure. Please see our Termidor Application instructions on the product page.  If you are wanting to use a product for general pest control Talstar is always a great product that covers many different pest and can be applied outdoors and indoors. Q
Can I use Termidor SC without diluting it? Will using without dilution be effective?
I found a subterranean mud mount.
    A
Termidor SC must be diluted with water and applied in a trench on the exterior of the structure for the most effective treatment of subterranean termites. Please refer to the article below for specific treatment information. It includes a lot of great information that you will find helpful.
