    Q
When should I apply T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator?
I just added fertilizer to my lawn. It's well established and about to add micro nutrients, etc. The yard has had nothing done to it for years. It's Saint Augustine I live in the gulf coast of Texas. I need to spray RoundUp for Southern Lawns. To get rid of weeds. So when should I add the Growth Inhibitor. I spent years confined to bed. But now able to walk again. PTL
    A

T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator should be applied when the lawn if actively growing and will last for 8 weeks. Depending on the type of turfgrass you have, the application rates should be adjusted based on the grass height at application. Please view the Application Rate Table on the product label for application rates for your turfgrass. The lower the height of cut of the particular turfgrass species, the less material is required to provide the desired turf growth regulator effect.

    Q
How soon after seed germination can I apply T-Nex plant growth regulator?
Mostly KBG existing lawn. Used T-Nex on September 6th. Mowed at 1.5" and overseeded September 10th. Good germination on September 16th. New grass is as tall or taller than existing grass as of October 12th. How soon after germination can I apply more T-Nex?
    A

The T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator can be applied now based on the timeline you have given for your seeding and mowing, and the height its currently at. Once your new grass gets to the height of the existing grass and you've mowed it to where they are pretty even, you can put the T-nex on the lawn without any issue and it will give the result you are looking for from the lawn.

    Q
Can T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator be mixed with Propiconazole 14.3?
    A

You could potentially mix a PGR such as T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator with a fungicide like Propiconazole. Be sure you are using the correct application rates for both. We also always recommend a small jar test first to check compatibility before mixing a larger tank. Also be sure there is good agitation if you are using a larger capacity sprayer.

    Q
How much water do you mix with T-Nex per 1,000 square feet?
I removed my label and cannot find. I believe I was mixing .6 ounces with 1 gallon of water for 1,000 square feet, but I just read somewhere you should only mix with half gallon of water for 1,000 square feet.

The application rates for T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator will vary depending on the type of turfgrass you havePlease refer to the Application Rate Table on page 6 & 7 of the product label for the recommended rates specific to your turfgrass.

You may need to calibrate your sprayer to determine how much water you will need to cover that area.

  • Asked by Jack from 32533

    Q
Clarification on ratio of water to t-nex
The label implies that .25 oz of t-nex can be used with any amount of water between .5 gallons and 4 gallons (zoysia for example). It does not state the relative effectiveness of the product over this wide range of dilution. Please clarify.
    A

T-Nex Plant Growth Regulator can be mixed at 0.25 oz in at least half a gallon of water but no more than 4 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft. For some people, to cover 1000 sq ft, it takes a full gallon but others may take a little more. In this instance, water is the carrier, as long as you are getting 0.25 oz per 1000 sq ft, the amount of water doesn't matter.

    Q
Is there a waiting period after applying weed control can you apply tnex or can it be applied at the same time
    A

This will depend on the weed control product you choose to use. According to the product label, T-Nex may be tank mixed with many other products. It is important to agitate the products. "For tank mixtures, use only if the mixing partner is registered for this use. Do not mix Quali-Pro. Otherwise a different product may be applied 2-3 days after the first application
