    Brown Headed Cowbirds

    By Joe on 04/10/2020

We have caught over 70 cowbirds so far. Since the females are smaller than males, they can escape easier. So, have to keep an eye out during day to remove birds occasionally rather than trying to empty trap only once a day.

    The good and the bad

    By Tim on 03/26/2021

The good part about this trap is the following: It is well constructed and will last a long time. the design is functional and works. we have caught a lot of starlings since we have had this trap. Now the bad: the only real issue with this is that there needed to be small fence that is put in the cage on the exit of the trap entrance. starlings are very smart birds and it did not take them very long to discover that they could get out the same way they got in. I fixed this be using chicken and putting up a "fence that distracts the birds from utilizing the entrance as an escape route. this did not fix the issue entirely but reduce the number of birds escaping severely.

    Works well

    By Richard on 04/17/2020

The first thing you need to do when you get it, is bend the tines down as the birds go right back out. After that it works fairly well and I've been sucessful at catching a few grackles and starlings.
