It is NOT recommended to use any type of surfactant including AMS Supreme with Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide. The manufacturer advises that surfactants when combined with this product can damage the leaf tissue of turfgrass. Per the product label, Do not use adjuvants and spray additive tank-mix combinations, unless your experience indicates that the tank mixture will not result in turf injury. If any discoloration or cosmetic effects are objectional or would be unacceptable then the use of a surfactant would not be recommended. The product label does not mention any issues with hard water.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is labeled to treat lawn burweed and puncturevine (goathead), however it is not labeled to control sandbur. If you need to control field sandbur in Bermuda turfgrass, then we recommend using Image Kills Nutsedge.
