    Trimec southern

    By Rich on 03/03/2013

I use this product to controll southern weeds that invade my nc lawn. Product does as it states without damaging my centipeede. I heard about this product from my ag dealer, and I haven't stopped using it yet. I would definitely recommend it to anyone...

Kills my worst lawn weeds (lot was former pasture land)

    By D.m. on 03/30/2015

I've been using Trimec Southern for 4 years now and it knocks down my worst weeds consistently without affecting my Bermudagrass lawn in Central Alabama. My lot was formerly pasture land, so it's got some of the hardiest weeds I've ever faced and Trimec kills everything and leaves my lawn intact.

    Trimec

    By Lynn on 05/22/2016

I have been please with the results that I have gotten do far. The only negative is it is a bit slow working. I am very happy that it did not kill my centipede grass. I would recommend this product to anyone with weed issues.

    Great stuff

    By Larry on 03/15/2016

I have used this for 3 years now & is as advertised - kills allmost all broadleaf type weeds. Next year I will also go with a pre-emergent for the grassy type weeds. Waited too long this year, and am paying the price with my weed popper, which right after a rain orks pretty well.

    Killed my Centipede Grass

    By Bob on 07/16/2017

1 oz per gal of water and the grass died deader than a kipper on a cracker. Used it for spot spraying weed thank heavens and not total coverage. You get measurements of .37 oz to 2 oz as recommended amounts per 1000 sq ft (which unless info if you are a farmer). i understand that 1 gal is 1000 sf. The Trimec I used before (not the one for souther lawns) worked great. Not sure what is going on with the southern lawn formula.

    works great

    By Richard on 02/22/2017

a little hesitatent to use this on my mixed St Augustine and other unidentified strains of grasses, but charged ahead with the minimum, .5oz / gal in a 1 gal hand sprayer, the yard size is 5,000 sq. ft. It did a wonderful job on all the dandelions and a few other weeds. on my next pass through the yard in a couple of months i will up the amount to .75oz/gal and see if that does a better job. i am highly satisfied with the results an expect this to be the number one in weed control for me.

Trimec Southern, not so good on henbit

    By Christy on 09/23/2015

Purchased to control henbit and other broadleaf. I would give it a 5-star most broadleaf but no stars for henbit. I sprayed twice here in the Fall for henbit and they are unaffected. I have followed the label directions but the henbit is growing well. Since they are in the lawn, I do not want to use more as it will kill the grass which is still green. I read there is a Trimec Plus for henbit but not sure if it will work and this herbicide is already expensive. I read that burning kills henbit ;(

Only use about .5 oz on St Augustine

    By Robert on 11/20/2020

Works great but you can't be in a big hurray. Let it do it's job and it will work out.

    Works well!

    By T on 10/23/2020

I applied a simple solution, just a splash, into a pump sprayer and applied it to front and back yard. within 2 weeks weeds were gone! The instructions on the bottle tell you to be cautious and not over use with centipede grass, hence the "splash" of product. TY

    Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide

    By Arthur on 07/05/2019

I am a DIYer. I have to say that this product does an excellent job of controlling weeds in my Centipede lawn. I apply pre emergents and then I only have to spot treat here and there. Yes, there are a few weeds that need a second treatment, but this product works better than any other store bought herbicide. I recommend this product and DoMyOwn. Do the math of cost per gallon of Trimec vs store bought, and it's performance, and you will use this too.

A herbicide that means what it says

    By Bill on 03/20/2020

My yard had contamination from the street drain backing up after a big rain. It destroyed my St. Augustine Palmetto grass which allowed the clover and other weeds to take over. I was expecting at least 2 applications, but they're already gone! In fact...by the second day. Now I have to restore my beautiful grass when I get the soil sample back from the county. By the way, I followed the label directions to the letter and didn't fudge on anything. The remaining grass that was still puny was completely untouched. Applied it March 1st and it is mid-March now. Good stuff. Didn't need very much of it to work. I only needed about 1/2 cup for my whole yard, front and back, including the surfactant. Used a 3-gallon sprayer.

    A+ product A+ company

    By Tommy on 08/28/2020

This seems to be the ticket for knotweed and Florida Pusley. Only been down for about 5 days, but WOW! Received my order faster than I expected and just before the rain set in. Thanks

    Great product

    By Clark on 09/28/2019

I purchased this product to get rid of Oxalis, a large genus of flowering plants in the wood-sorrel family. The oxalis was choking out my grass and I thought my application of Gordon's Pasture Pro over the years was containing it. I was wrong. Pasture Pro didn't touch it. Long story short after doing some research I decided to try Trimec. This really did the trick. It attacked the oxalis which is in full retreat. DoMyOwn is a great company. I will definitely continue to do business with them. Fair price and a wide selection.

    Wild onions/garlic

    By Michael on 01/10/2020

Took about one week but the wild onions/garlic started to die off. Wish it came in a smaller size bottle and had a measuring cup with it. Other then that i'm happy with the results.

    Trimec

    By Charlie on 06/12/2023

I applied this product as directed, expecting to see quick results. Not only did it not work, the weeds were just as healthy. I wasted my money. I'll be more attentive to who I talk to at DMO.

    Expert Response  Expert response:
Please keep in mind that It can take 14 to 21 days to see results on young, actively growing weeds when using a product like Trimec Southern. Depending on how well established the target weeds are, it could take a full 21 days, and a repeat treatment may possibly be needed. Additionally, this product is only labeled for use on broadleaf weeds, but will not be effective for targeting grassy weeds.

    Ok product

    By Agood on 11/04/2022

Kind of works ok. Not all weeds go away. Spurge is still prevalent. Will have to check again in spring summer time when grass is greener or weeds pop again.

Trimec Sourhern Broadleaf Herbicide for turf

    By Greg on 09/15/2023

It turns the weeds a brown look but does not completely kill it in most area. I ordered and put it out for a second time like was suggested but did the same thing. I called about putting a second round because we had a very big rain a day after I put it out the first treatment but it did the same the second treatment also.

    Trimec

    By Mike on 09/09/2022

product works great. but need more instructions about how to mix for spot spraying. most instructions show to mix .75 oz for 1 acre. but for spot spraying that is not sufficient. i mixed .75 per gallon of water and that was WAY too strong. killed my bermuda grass.

    Works great

    By Mike on 06/17/2022

This is a really good broadleaf herbicide, for me it works best early in the summer to take care of the pig weed that pops up every year.

    St. Augustine

    By Loyd on 05/14/2022

This product killed all of the dollar weed in my St Augustine grass. .33oz/10 ml per gallon per 1000 square feet! It killed most of the other weeds with few exceptions.

    Bermuda grass

    By Keith on 12/31/2021

This products very well on the clover popping up in my newer bermuda grass. I mixed it at about 3/4 dose since the grass was newer. It took care of the clover and stunted the grass a bit, but it is coming back. I'd say wait until you mow about 5 times before using it on new grass.

    Worked great!

    By Richard on 09/18/2020

Had Japanese clover in different areas of the yard. Two days after spraying the plants started yellowing and within two weeks the plants were completely dead. The product did not affect the Bermuda grass at all. Very pleased!
