I used the spray on my potted lemon tree on orange dog caterpillars

The tree was beginning the fruit staged for the first time. Now I'm wondering if the lemons would be safe to consume after spraying it once , not continuously.? I'd bring the pot inside the home to keep the problem from reoccurring
