What do you do with the tab on the Amdro Quick Kill Mosquito Yard Spray?

Seems to keep the on an off from turning???

We apologize if you are having trouble using the Amdro Quick Kill Mosquito Yard Spray. You will turn the lever to the ON position after you have connected your water hose and turned on the water, then turn the lever to OFF when you are done spraying.
