What is a good pre-emergent herbicide to use for crabgrass control? I have small children so I need something that is safe.

Hi-Yield Crabgrass Weed Control would be a good option for you.  It is safe if used according to the label instructions.  Children should be kept out of the area while the product is being applied and watered in, but can safely return when everything is fully dry.
