What is Pennington Natural Springs Hummingbird Nectar's exact shelf life, after outside in feeder life, especially in hot weather?

It would be very helpful if an expiration date or just a more detailed or accurate time of don't use by or if temp has been 90 F or above, change after 7 days etc. After all the concern of not harming our little friends is of much importance. So, maybe some better time boundaries can be set for us that use your products. Maybe more research?

Answer:

According to the manufacturer, Pennington Natural Springs Hummingbird Nectar Ready to Use 64 oz does not come with an expiration date and while sealed and stored in a cool dry place it can be stored for 1 - 2 years or longer. Once the seal is broken then you can store it in a cool, dry area or the refrigerator, for best results, but must be used within 3-6 months. Placing your birdfeeder in a shaded area or partial sunlight would be better but not necessary. Depending on the outside temperature, you may need to replace the nectar as follows: In temperatures of 70º and below - change once a week, 70º-85º - change every 3 days, 85º-90º - change every other day, and 90º and above - change everyday.
