Steve from Coastal South Carolina writes

What is the rate of Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide to treat white moths, ants and possible chinch bugs on 2000 sq ft of St. Augustine sod?

Answer:

Nufarm Mallet 0.5 G Insecticide is not labeled to control ants or sod webworms (lawn moths) however this product will treat for mole crickets, chinch bugs, white grubs, and many other turf eating insects in the lawn.
For mole crickets, grubs, and chinch bugs in lawns, the application rate is 80 lbs per acre or 1.8lbs per 1000 sq ft. Meridian 0.33 G Insecticide would be a better choice for treating ants, chinch bugs, sod webworms and a broad spectrum insecticide for both foliar and turf eating insects. For ants, chinch bugs and sod webworms, the application rate is 60 to 80lbs per acre or 1.4lbs to 1.8lbs per 1000 sqft. Please view the full product label for more information.
