How you set your hose end sprayer will depend completely on the brand of sprayer you have. We recommend you read the directions on the hose end sprayer as some require you to pre-dilute the product and other hose end sprayers do not. That being said, rate of Permethrin SFR for fleas/ticks in a yard is not set per gallon so we do not recommend a hose end sprayer. Per the product label you would mix 0.4 – 0.8 fl. oz. of Permethrin SFR in 4 to 25 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. Dense or excessive (greater than 3 inches) lawn height and arid conditions may require higher volume application rates. Repeat application if necessary. Application in combination with compatible surfactants or wetting agents may enhance penetration.
