When do I apply Milky Spore Powder? What can I kill the bugs with because they are destroying my hibiscus.

Its eating the flower blooms off my hardy Hibiscus. What can I kill them with ? NEEM Oil does not work . They are hard to get off and they they come right back to the flowers . Please Help !

Answer:

Milky Spore Powder should be applied 3 times per year.  The manufacturer recommends applying around Labor Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th just to make it easy to remember when to apply.  However, this product can be applied at any time of year as long as the ground is not frozen.  Keep in mind that Milky Spore Powder will treat Japanese beetle grubs only.  It is a good idea to get an identification of the pest you need to treat so that you can be sure you are choosing the best product for your needs.
