Why does the lawn need to be damp before using Lilly Miller Moss Out Lawn Granules?

Rain is expected within a few hours anyways. I don't understand why it needs to be damp when applied. It seems that it would just stick to the blades of grass and not the surface of the soil.

Answer:

By making sure the soil is damp before application of Lilly Miller Moss Out Lawn Granules, it will allow the granules to penetrate into the soil quicker and more effectively once you water them in after application.  Watering the product in after application will ensure the product is moved off the foliage and down into the soil.
