Will Orthene get rid of crawdads? They are killing my creek bank

I have tried putting mothballs down the holes but they just spit them back out. I have also tried putting Roundup in the holes and that did not work either.

Answer:

Orthene is highly toxic to all aquatic animals and you risk killing everything in the creek if you use it in such close proximity to the water. Any poison that would kill the crawdads would also kill every other living creature in the water so we are unable to make any product recommendations for you. Unfortunately there is really nothing you can do about crawdads other than try to trap them. Trying to get rid of crawdads on a creek bank is a losing battle.
