Bamboo is very difficult to kill since its roots grow so deep. A glyphosate product like Rodeo will need to be applied at the highest labeled rate directly to the fresh cut stump of the bamboo after you cut it down level to the ground. You could also use a brush and stump killer applied undiluted directly on the fresh stump.
