Will Tenacity affect a dormant seeding attempt with Turf Type Tall Fescue if applied now (January) and hoping it does not germinate until early spring?

Just put out turf type tall fescue seed with hopes it will not germinate until very early spring. My attempt at dormant seeding. When can I apply Tenacity and it not affect the eventual germination of my new seed? Can I apply before or after germination? Does it matter?

Answer:

Tenacity Herbicide can be applied as a pre-emergent before or at the same as seeding. We recommend that you only apply Tenacity after seeding if you can make the application within 7 days of seeding. Otherwise, you would need to wait until the new grass has come up and been mowed at least twice.
