When using Demand CS it can take minutes to hours to kill carpenter bees. The active ingredient needs time to work through the follicle of the insect to the central nervous system. You can spray surfaces they would land on to help prevent new holes, and treat inside existing holes for larvae with dusts like Delta Dust.
